Coleus
Coleus, mostly used as a bright, multicoloured foliage plant, produces beautiful leaves in various different shades of pink, maroon, green, red, cream, yellow and orange.
Ideal for garden beds, borders, rockeries, containers and mass plantings Coleus should be planted in a warm, partly shaded position in the garden or a position in full fun with ample moisture provided. Plant in well-drained soil that has been enriched with compost or manure prior to planting and water regularly with copious amounts of water to keep the foliage production strong. Add mulch on top of your garden bed to help retain moisture in the soil.
Coleus does also produce small, blue spiked blooms amongst it's foliage throughout spring and summer but these are usually pinched back to keep the plant looking uniform.
Coleus grows to approx. 30-40cm high and should be planted 25-30cm apart.
