Brussel Sprouts are a vigorous, leafy green vegetable grown for its edible buds that look like miniature cabbages. Showing excellent cold disease tolerance, Brussel Sprouts are rich in vitamin C and vitamin K and are typically cooked by boiling, steaming, roasting and stir-frying. The buds are removed from the stem and the stem is discarded. Requiring a position in full sun, Brussel Sprouts should be planted in well-drained soil that has been that has been enriched with compost or manure prior to planting and water regularly to ensure the soil stays moist.
