SpecificationsThe myoporum parvifolium alba is an evergreen ground cover native to Australia. It is quite delicate to look at with a fresh green foliage of semi-succulent leaves which are narrow, blunt and thick. The flower clusters are fragrantly honey-scented and made up of white tubular flowers through late spring to early summer. These are followed by globular berries. This attractive low maintenance plant is ideal for filling those gaps, under-planting, cascading down embankments or trailing over retaining walls and raised garden beds, or any situation requiring a rather lush-looking groundcover. Myoporums prefer full-sun to part-shade, and will grow in most soils including some clays and heavy soils as long as they are well drained. Also moderately tolerant of coastal regions and quite waterwise when established, surviving high temperatures of 30 to 40 degrees and is also high-frost/cold tolerant to -7 degrees. Once this native is established low water is required as it is quite drought-tolerant, and as with most plants a little mulch is beneficial for retaining moisture and deterring weeds. Being a low-maintenance plant there is no pruning required unless you are maintaining a shape or feature. A slow-release low phosphorus fertiliser occasionally is also beneficial. Myoporum parvifolium alba will grow to 15cm tall and 75cm wide.
