This Western Australian perennial has similar features and qualities as the Anigozanthos (Kangaroo Paws). Conostylis candicans produces grey-green sword shaped foliage that support small clusters of yellow flowers on the ends of its stalks during spring. These flowers will also attract birds to the garden.
Conostylis candicans is widely used as a border, flat ground cover or shrubbery. Plant Conostylis candicans in well drained soils with medium to poor fertility. This native does thrive in positions of full sun. Conostylis candicans is also wind and drought tolerant, as well as withstanding light frost.
Conostylis candicans is low maintenance, however water well until established, and further during hot summer months.
