    Tulbaghia violacea variegata is commonly referred to as Society Garlic and is related to the onion family, producing a strong smell of garlic when leaves are bruised or when flowers are picked. Long, strappy, grey-green and cream variegated foliage form tight clumps, while mauve tubular flowers bloom on tall stalks that stand above the foliage. Flowering for a long period over summer and autumn. Society Garlic is a popular garden plant used widely by landscapers and is ideal for use as a border plant, in rockeries and mixed gardens. It is fast growing, hardy and requires little maintenance. Sociey Garlic will tolerate drought but grows best with regular watering. Plant in a semi shade and full sun position and is suitable for most soil types, Feed annually with a completed fertiliser. Tulbaghia violacea variegata will grow 30-40cm high clumping to 30cm wide
