This tree produces a formal pyramid shape with dense foliage. Araucaria heterophylla has become synonymous in Australia. Its' extreme toleration to salt and wind gives Araucaria heterophylla the ability to adapt and thrive in the most demanding coastal positions. Araucaria heterophylla is also a popular indoor plant, mainly used as an indoor Christmas tree. This variety prefers full sun, with moist free draining soils; but will adapt to lesser soils. Araucaria heterophylla requires minimal maintenance. When planting, consideration is needed to allow room for both upper crown growth as well as root expansion. Water Araucaria heterophylla well until it is suitably established. Araucaria heterophylla can grow to a height of 60 metres and a width of 15 metres.
