SpecificationsThis slow growing Tree Aloe is an ideal feature piece in the garden. Aloe barbarae looks stunning when young but once established, has an immense stem base with a neat crown. It forms long, soft tipped green leaves which are equipped with an arching habit. Aloe barberae produces tubular flowers on terminal stems that are a rose pink shade, softening its structure. This African native towers over other varieties, making it the largest in Africa. Aloe barberae is well suited for containers and make great specimen trees. They can be directly planted in the garden but it is recommended they are planted away from buildings or structures due to their dynamic canopy. Position Aloe barberae in an area of full sun, with well draining soils. This plant is hardy and can tolerate dry periods. Water Aloe barberae regularly until established. This plant is sensitive to frost and should be protected in the first few years. Aloe barberae can grow to a height of 6 metres with a width of 4 metres. In Africa they are known to grow up to 18m.
