Commonly known as the 'Pale Rush', Juncus pallidus is native to Western Australia where it grows in moist and low-fertility areas. This perennial forms a dense clump with leaves that are rounded around the stem, forming a sheath. The flowers are grass-like, and open in late spring through summer. Juncus pallidus is robust and ideal for wet areas such as ponds, dam edges and riversides. It is also useful to reduce nitrogen run-off, stabilise soils from erosion and to fry out boggy locations. The seeds are very vigorous and can colonise an area within a few years. This species thrives in wet, high nutrient soils with full sun positions. Juncus pallidus will tolerate shade and coastal conditions. Juncus pallidus requires low maintenance. Keep soils moist. Juncus pallidus can grow to a height of 2 metres and a width of 1 metre.Commonly known as the 'Pale Rush' Juncus pallidus is native to Western Australia where it grows in moist and low-fertility areas.
