Swamp She-oak

This She-oak comes from both the southwest of Western Australia and the Mallee region of northwest Victoria where it grows along waterways and in swamps. Casuarina obesa is one of the more upright She-oaks and has relatively short branches that become more rounded with age.
Casuarina obesa is an ideal windbreak or screening plant for difficult sites. This evergreen tree has a strong tolerance of both salinity and wet soils, and can improve soil quality by lowering saline in below water tables. Casuarina obesa can also tolerate significant frost.
