  • Specifications

Spinifex longifolius is a rhizomatous tussock forming perennial grass that grows in sandy areas along the coast and in most deserts around Australia. It has narrow grass-like leaves that are long and flat, with a unique seed head resembling an ocean sea urchin, Flowers are green-brown and produced from April to December. This hardy coastal plant is one of the best stabilizing species of the Perth coast, thriving under high wind, salt spray and eroding conditions. Grows in sandy soils and is an ideal for coastal revegetation projects and as a water wise plant for coastal gardens, requiring only an annual prune to keep it looking compact.
