    Banksia ashbyi is a decorative dense, low rounded shrub or small tree native to WA. Producing serrated blue-green foliage with brilliant large yellow-orange flower cones during spring and autumn. Excellent for attracting birds, as it is a natural feeding plant for the Carnaby Black cockatoo. Occurs naturally in red, yellow or white sand in coastal areas or red sand dunes and sandplains between Exmouth and Geraldton. A great feature plant, screen, wind break and can be planted in coastal gardens and median strips. Makes a fantastic cut flower specimen. Prefers a full sun position with well drained soil. Drought tolerant, water wise and is able to tolerate moderate frosts. Banksia ashbyi will grow to a height of 8m
