  • Specifications

Callistemon Captain Cook was named to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Captain James Cook's discovery of the east coast of Australia in 1770. This Australian native is one of the most popular bottlebrush cultivars, with dense evergreen foliage that bears clusters of bright red flowers at the ends of its branches during spring. This brilliant waterwise, bird attracting shrub will make an excellent addition to any garden or landscape. Suggested uses include screening, hedging and a low maintenance shrub for small native gardens. Callistemon Captain Cook will tolerate drought, moderate frost and poor soils. Callistemon Captain Cook will thrive in a sunny to a slightly partly shaded position in well-drained soils. Prune after flowering to promote new growth. Callistemon Captain Cook can grow to a height and width of 1.5 metres.
