This Western Australian developed hybrid was first discovered in 1973 by John Cripps, who crossed two varieties; Golden Delicious and Lady Williams. Since then it has spread across the world and is grown in 15 countries and sold across more than 30. Today it is still Australia's favourite apple. Also known as Cripps Pink, Apple Pink Lady has a pink blush over a green base. The apple itself is crisp with a dense, firm flesh and a deliciously sweet flavour. This particular apple has a high sugar content making it ideal for cooking in sauces, pies and salads. It is an ideal fruit tree and is best positioned in an area of full to part sun exposure, with free draining soils. Pink Lady Apple trees are self-pollinating, meaning it is the only apple tree specimen you need in the garden. Use a nitrogen fertiliser annually to feed. Apple Pink Lady can grow to a height of 7 metres and a width of 5 metres.
