SpecificationsAmaranthus Flying Colours is an easy to grow annual with brilliant vibrant Red, Yellow and Green coloured foliage. Although it does not produce any flowers this bushy, multicoloured plant will add an exciting burst of colour to any home from early summer to late autumn. Ideal for garden beds, large containers and mass plantings Amaranthus Flying Colours is best suited to a position in full sun; this really helps intensify the colour of the plant. Plant in well-drained soil that has been enriched with compost or manure prior to planting and water regularly until the seedlings are established then water heavily once or twice per week depending on the condition of your soil. Adding mulch on top of your garden bed will help retain moisture in the soil. Amaranthus is a low maintenance plant making it perfect for beginner gardeners. Be cautious of snails and other insects that cause damage to leaves when plants are young as the foliage is the attractive attribute to the plant. Once they have finished their season the plants can be recycled into compost or mulch and redistributed in the home garden. Amaranthus Flying Colours grow up to approx. 1 metre tall and should be planted 50cm apart.
